The Advantages of Technology in the Classroom

5 ways technology is used in the classroom:
  • Accessing information
  • Editing of written works
  • Providing supplementary information
  • Communicating
  • Motivating students
Ways that have been most helpful in preparing you for life after high school:
  • "Make the task of learning easier and allow for the creation of products that would once have been impossible"
  • Teachers can also teach students to efficiently communicate with others across the globe.
  • Technology grasps their attention and motivates them to be better.
Another advantage of using technology in the classroom
  • An advantage of technology in the classroom in my opinion, is the fact that the students have control of what the future holds with technology. With the kids learning about technology and bettering themselves for the future, they could one day be the next inventors or creators of the technology we now have.

My Involvement in TAFE

This year at region, I participated in the ELF test at UNT. At state I participated in the "Are You Pinterested in Teaching" breakout session. If I could have done anything different this year, it would have been to go for the Student of the Year award at state. I have learned so much this year and have loved working with this group.

Who is Stacey Bess

Stacey Bess is a well-known author and educator who is most commonly known for her book-turned movie, "Beyond the Blackboard." This story based on the book Nobody Don't Love Nobody was about Stacey's first teaching job where she taught k-12th, when she told she'd only teach k-6th. The story is of the trials and hard times that Stacey went through at this school. Her service as a teacher has been much rewarded with the number of honors she has received. Stacey is now a public speaker, fighting for the rights of impoverished children. I think that if my passion was to do what she did, then I would most definitely be able to last in the circumstances.

Bullying in School

In my opinion, BISD does not necessarily have any problems with bullying that I know of. It is not of my knowledge to know about any other high schools,  middle or elementary schools that I do not attend though. From where I see it at Birdville High School, there is not much bullying. The only bullying I have witnessed was cyber-bullying. A student at Birdville created a twitter page to tell all about the problems at Birdville and about the students that were problems in their opinion. In my opinion, the bully should be punished severely because if you say the wrong thing to the wrong person, it could take a life. In my classroom, I will make the environment like that of a family so that no matter what, the bullying is minimal.
